Woodside ferry service suspended tomorrow due to terminal building water damage

  Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 (Halifax, NS) - The Woodside ferry will not be in operation tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 11, due to water damage to the terminal building as a result of a water line break. Initial building inspections have deemed the terminal is not safe for passenger operations tomorrow.

 

Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – The Woodside ferry will not be in operation tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 11, due to water damage to the terminal building as a result of a water line break. Initial building inspections have deemed the terminal is not safe for passenger operations tomorrow.
 
Metro Transit will provide load and go shuttles for ferry passengers between the Alderney and Woodside terminals during regular Woodside ferry service hours. The Alderney shuttle will depart from the MetroLink bus stop on Alderney Drive in front of the library, and the Woodside shuttle will depart from the bus stop in front of the Woodside ferry terminal building.
 
Following a complete building inspection tomorrow, passengers will be advised if the Woodside ferry is able to resume regular service on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Updates will be available on Metro Transit’s website at www.halifax.ca/metrotransit, on its Twitter feed @hfxtransit, and by calling 311 during the hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
 
Metro Transit regrets any inconvenience to passengers as a result of this service disruption.
