Worker Suffers Serious but, Non-life-threatening Injuries After Becoming Trapped Under Steel Piping

At approximately 3:30 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an industrial accident at a business in the 100 block of Burbridge Ave, Dartmouth.   
At approximately 3:30 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an industrial accident at a business in the 100 block of Burbridge Ave, Dartmouth. 
 
A staff member was unloading  pieces of 12 inch steel piping approximately 20 feet in length, from a delivery truck. Two pieces of piping fell on the worker, briefly trapping him underneath. A 44 year old male was transported to a hospital by Emergency Health Services Paramedics for treatment of serious but, non-life threatening injuries to his legs. The Federal Department of Labour has been contacted as they are the agency of jurisdiction for this matter. Halifax Regional Police Forensic Identification Section are currently on scene continuing the investigation.
