At 8:50 a.m. Halifax Regional Police received a call of a theft in progress at Oland’s distribution centre on Horseshoe Lake Drive in Bayer’s Lake.
Workers saw a man inside the trailer of one of the trucks used to transport beer. When the suspect was seen unloading beer from the palettes in the trailer, the witnesses locked him inside and contacted police. The suspect did some property damage by smashing the inside of the trailer and also enjoyed some beer. Patrol officers responded and arrested a 45-year-old Halifax man. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court tomorrow to face charges of theft, possession, property damage and six breaches of court orders.
