Yarmouth County RCMP arrest trio in stolen car, Yarmouth County, N.S.

A 19-year-old male driver from Springhill and two Yarmouth female passengers, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested in relation to a stolen vehicle from New Brunswick. At approximately 1 p.m.

A 19-year-old male driver from Springhill and two Yarmouth female passengers, aged 17 and 18, have been arrested in relation to a stolen vehicle from New Brunswick.

At approximately 1 p.m.

today, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra believed to be stolen was observed near Highway 3 and Robinson Rd. intersection. As RCMP attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed. Approximately five minutes later, the driver collided head-on with another RCMP vehicle that was enroute to the area to assist other officers. The driver fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later. Both vehicles sustained considerable damage. The two passengers were taken into police custody without incident. There were no injuries in this incident.

The driver will be facing several charges including Dangerous Driving and Failing to Stop for Police. The investigation is continuing.
