Yarmouth RCMP investigate weapons complaint, Yarmouth, N.S.

Yarmouth Town RCMP are investigating a complaint of two men carrying long guns in the woods.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., RCMP officers from Yarmouth Town and Rural Detachments along with the Police Dog Unit responded to a call of two young men carrying long guns in the vicinity of the paved trail between Parade Street and Starr’s Road. Both suspects were quickly located and RCMP determined that a 16-year-old youth and a 25-year-old man were carrying pellet guns.

No charges are expected in the incident. As a precautionary measure, schools in the area were locked down for approximately one hour.
