Yarmouth RCMP responded to a call indicating threats towards members of Yarmouth Town RCMP.

At approximately 4 p.m. on June 3, Yarmouth RCMP responded to a call indicating threats towards members of Yarmouth Town RCMP. A man had called a provincial news outlet and told them they should get a news crew to Yarmouth, because there was going to be a shoot out with police that night.

RCMP officers determined the man’s location and contained the residence. Shortly before 5 p.m., the man walked out of the residence and was arrested without incident. Police searched the home and did not locate any firearms.

The suspect, a 24-year-old Yarmouth man, is facing charges of Uttering Threats and Breach of Undertaking. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court today.

The investigation is ongoing.
