Shortly before 1 a.m., Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Black Point Rd., Yarmouth.

Upon arrival, members located a van in a ditch.​ The lone occupant, a 59-year-old male, was found unresponsive in the vehicle.​

The man was transported to hospital by EHS where he was pronounced deceased.

The road was closed for several hours as a Collision Reconstruction Analyst was called to attend the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
