Health Canada and Costco have issued a run of food recalls over the past few weeks that reach store shelves across the country, including here in HRM. Here is what to look for in your fridge and pantry.
Costco yogurt recalled over mould
Costco Canada is telling members to check their fridges for The Greek Gods Honey Yogurt and Organic Yogurt Plain, both sold in 2 x 650g containers (item numbers 245554 and 1774521). The products were sold at Costco warehouses and Business Centres between June and August 2026 and are being recalled by Hain Celestial due to possible mould. Affected best before dates run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 15 for the Honey Yogurt and Aug. 9 to Sept. 13 for the Organic Plain. Costco says the yogurt can be returned to any warehouse for a full refund.

Hershey’s Kisses recalled for undeclared almond
Hershey Canada has recalled a limited run of Hershey’s Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate in 200g and 104g bags with lot codes starting with 51G and 51H. The chocolate may contain almond that is not listed on the label, a risk for anyone with a tree nut allergy. The affected product was distributed nationally between May 6 and July 28, 2026. Consumers can reach Hershey Consumer Relations at 1-800-468-1714 for a refund.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo bar recalled for undeclared pistachio
Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Oreo bar, sold as a single 38g bar and in 12-packs, is being recalled nationally by Mondelez Canada after the discovery of undeclared pistachio. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says there have been reported allergic reactions linked to the product. Anyone with a pistachio allergy or sensitivity should not eat it.

PC Organics and Frankie’s Organic corn puffs recalled for undeclared milk
A national recall covers several PC Organics and Frankie’s Organic plant based snacks after testing found undeclared milk. The affected products are Frankie’s Organic Plant Based Puffs Vegan Cheddar (113g), PC Organics Plant Based Cheddar baked corn puffs (142g and 336g), PC Organics Plant Based Cheddar Jalapeno baked corn puffs (142g), and PC Organics Plant Based Cheddar baked corn crunchies (142g). The recall was triggered after reported allergic reactions.

Ola-Ola Pounded Yam recalled for undeclared milk
Ola-Ola brand Authentic Pounded Yam (Iyan) IYANINSTANT, sold in a 1.815kg package (UPC 6 50655 49687 3), is under a national and online recall for undeclared milk. Anyone with a milk allergy or sensitivity should avoid the product.

What to do
For any of the above, Health Canada’s standard advice applies: do not eat the product if you have the relevant allergy or sensitivity, do not serve, sell, or give it away, and either throw it out or return it to where you bought it.
