Youth arrested after knife incident

Halifax Regional Police have charged a youth in relation to an incident that occurred yesterday in Dartmouth.

At approximately 2 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive in relation to a report that a youth had just threatened a group of youths and brandished a knife. Officers arrested the youth a short distance away and seized two knives.

The 17-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court at a later date to face the following charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Fail to comply with an undertaking
