Youth arrested after loaded firearm seized at school

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested after a loaded firearm was recovered at Charles P. Allen High School this morning.
A 17-year-old male youth was arrested after a loaded firearm was recovered at Charles P. Allen High School this morning.
 
Earlier this morning, police received anonymous information that a youth may be in possession of a firearm at Charles P. Allen High School, located at 200 Innovation Drive in Bedford. Officers attended the school and shared the information with school officials. School officials and officers identified a potential suspect who was taken to the school office and a loaded sawed-off rifle and a knife were found in his backpack. At 12:03 p.m., he was arrested without incident. 
 
The youth is currently in police custody being interviewed by investigators and officers remain at the school. The investigation is ongoing and at this time, there is no evidence to suggest that the youth had intentions to use the weapons at the school. Charges are anticipated in this matter.
