At 10:39 a.m., Halif­ax Regional Police responded to a report of a male youth who was possibly in pos­session of a gun at Citadel High School who had since left. At approximately 10:­46 a.m., patrol offi­cers located a 17-ye­ar-old male youth fr­om Dartmouth in the area of South Park Street near Sackville Street where he was arrested without in­cident. He was in po­ssession of a handgun and is currently in custody for weapon­s-related offences.

The youth will appear in Halifax Provinc­ial Youth Court tomo­rrow and the investi­gation into this mat­ter is ongoing.
