Youth arrested for arson in Kings County

Shortly before 7 p.m. on July 9, Kings District RCMP was called to the scene of a suspicious fire at a multi-unit home on Exhibition St. in Kentville. The home contained five apartments and all of the occupants were able to get out safely. Police shut the road down in the area to assist firefighters as they responded to the incident. A witness at the scene provided information to police and resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old female youth from Kings County.

The youth was transported to Kings District RCMP and later released. RCMP have maintained continuity of the scene and are working with the Office of the Fire Marshal to assist them in their investigation.
