Youth arrested for being in possession of stolen items

On June 28 shortly after 1 a.m., Lower Sackville RCMP responded to a call of theft from a vehicle which had been parked at a business on Sackville Dr. The victim told police that several bags had been stolen from the car while she was inside the business.

RCMP officers located some of the stolen items inside a vacant shed nearby. In the early morning hours of June 29, police arrested a youth who was in possession of some of the stolen items. The 16-year-old male from Lower Sackville was later released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Youth Court on August 8.

The investigation is ongoing. Halifax District RCMP have responded to an increased number of thefts from motor vehicles in the Lower Sackville area. Residents are advised to ensure their vehicles are locked, and all valuables stored out of sight or removed from the vehicle. Suspicious activity can be reported to police by calling 902-490-5020.
