Youth arrested with stolen vehicle , Tantallon, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a stolen truck from the Enfield area being driven in the Tantallon area. Located on Peggys Cove Rd, the driver of the vehicle rammed the Police Dog Vehicle in an attempt to flee from the RCMP member that was attempting to arrest him. The individual was captured a short time later.

As a result, three individuals were arrested with the 15-year-old driver facing the following charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act:

– Theft under $5000

– Possession of Stolen Property

– Assaulting a Police Officer

– Flight from Police

– Dangerous Driving

The young person was released on a promise to appear with a court date of March 3, 2016.

The file is still under investigation with the possibility of additional charges.
