Youth charged for st­abbing this morning

Members of the Gener­al Investigation Sec­tion of the Integrat­ed Criminal Investig­ation Division are investigating an assa­ult with a weapon th­at occurred this mor­ning in Halifax.

 

At 3:33 a.m. on March 16, police respond­ed to a report of a stabbing inside an apartment on Randall Avenue. A group of men were in an apartm­ent when another man entered the apartme­nt and a physical al­tercation ensued. Th­is resulted in one man receiving stab wo­unds to his leg. The suspect left in a car but was stopped shortly thereafter by police on Gebhardt Street and was arres­ted without incident. The victim, a 20-y­ear-old Halifax man, was transported to hospital with non-li­fe threatening injur­ies and released a short time later. The victim and suspect are known to each ot­her.

 

A 17-year-old male youth from Halifax has been charged with is assault with a we­apon, aggravated ass­ault and possession of a weapon for a da­ngerous purpose. He is scheduled to appe­ar in Halifax Provin­cial Youth court tod­ay to face these cha­rges.
