14-year-old and 16-year-old face charges after weapons incident at Walmart store

HRP release:

On August 30 at approximately 7:10 p.m., police responded to a weapons incident that occurred at Walmart, located at 6990 Mumford Road in Halifax. It was reported that a youth was assaulted and threatened with a sensory irritant by two other, unknown youths. Officers located and arrested both youths without incident.

A 14-year-old male youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court today to face charges of:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
  • Carrying concealed weapon
  • Possess weapon dangerous to public peace (x2)
  • Failure to comply with condition of release order (x2)

A 16-year-old male youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax youth court today to face charges of:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possess weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Failure to comply with condition of release order (x2)
