15-year-old approached by man in car, police looking for suspect

Halifax Regional Police responded to a suspicious circumstance call earlier this week in Halifax.

On July 6 at approximately 8 p.m. a vehicle followed a 15-year-old youth who was walking in the area of Regent Road in Halifax. The driver asked the youth to get in his vehicle several times. The youth refused and walked away to a safe location. The vehicle was seen turning onto Connaught Avenue and left the area in an unknown direction of travel.

The vehicle was described as a light gray hatchback with a roof rack. The vehicle was being driven by a man described as 17 to 18-years-old with black hair, shaved on the sides with curls on top, and a nose ring.

Investigators are looking to speak with the driver of the vehicle or anyone who may have information in relation to this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
