Speaking of the business commission (see next post re: chair of their board Ryan Brennan), the Spryfield and District Business Commission is accepting nominations for their first annual business awards. The awards will be presented at the AGM in June.

Awards will be presented in four categories: New Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year (10 or less employees), Business of the Year (11 or more employees) and Business Person of the Year. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be given out in each category.
In order to qualify to be nominated a business must be a member of the Business Commission and membership is defined as a commercial property owner/business within the geographical boundaries of the Business Improvement District, a business leasing from and located in one of these commercial properties or an Associate Member of the Business Commission.
To make a nomination, please send the business name, address, owner (s) name, a brief description of the business and your reason’s for nominating the business and send it to the SDBC by e-mail at sdbc@eastlink.ca or by mail to Spryfield and District Business Commission, Royal Bank Bldg., 339 Herring Cove Road, Suite 211, Halifax, N.S., B3R 1V5.
