RCMP Halifax District are at the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred at 7:21 p.m. this evening. The collision involved a Ford Explorer with a single occupant, a fifty five year old male from Lucasville, pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was travelling southbound on highway 102, towards Halifax, between exit 5A and 5, when the collision occurred.

The investigation is ongoing with an RCMP Accident reconstructionist presently on scene to assist in determining the cause and circumstances of the collision.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office is also investigating in order to determine the cause and manner of death.

Highway 102 southbound (inbound towards Halifax) is closed at exit 7 (Enfield) until further notice.
