30 tickets issued Monday including speeding in a school zone

HRP focusing on speed and agressive driving in April

Tuesday, the Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit issued a number of tickets for motor vehicle-related offences.

On Monday, members issued 30 summary offence tickets: 9 for speeding (including speeding in a school zone), 9 for driving without insurance and 12 for other offences including using a cell phone while driving, bald tires, expired plates and invalid inspections.

The monthly theme for April is speed and aggressive driving. In a continued effort to address traffic safety issues, officers will focus on these areas when conducting enforcement.

We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
