4-Year-Old Knocked Down By Slow Moving Car, Drugs & Weapons Seized After Dartmouth Traffic Stop

At approximately 7:10 A.M. a traffic stop was conducted by a Halifax Regional Police patrol officer on Highway 111 in Dartmouth. As a result of this stop, a quantity of marijuana, scales, and packaging material as well as a set of brass knuckles, 2 taser type weapons and a collapsible baton were seized from the vehicle. A 29 year old male is currently in police custody facing a number of drug and weapon related charges.
 
Vehicle-Pedestrian Motor Vehicle Accident
 
At 1:30 P.M. a 19 year old male was driving at a very slow rate of speed on Harlington Ave in Halifax when a 4 year old boy ran across the street in front of the vehicle. The driver was able to get the vehicle stopped quickly but did make contact with the boy. The boy was knocked to the ground, got back up and continued on his way. His mother was in the immediate area with him. The boy sustained minor scratches but was taken to the IWK by his mother to be checked for precautionary reasons. There was no crosswalk at this location. There will not be any charges laid in this incident.
