Digby RCMP is investigating a stabbing incident that occurred last evening on Water Street near the Post Office. Yesterday at approximately 6:30 p.m., Digby RCMP and Emergency Health Services(EHS) responded to a stabbing incident.

Yesterday at approximately 6:30 p.m., Digby RCMP and Emergency Health Services(EHS) responded to a stabbing incident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old-man from Digby had been stabbed in the side by an 18-year-old man. The victim was transported to the Digby General Hospital by a passer-by and was then transferred to the Southwest Health in Yarmouth by EHS. His injuries are not life-threatening. An 18-year-old man was arrested a short distance from the scene without incident and remains in custody. A second suspect, 17, was arrested early this morning without incident and remains in custody as well.

The two men, from Digby, are facing charges of Assault with a Weapon and will appear in Digby Provincial Court this morning. The three men are known to each other and this was not a random act.
