Traffic re-routed on Highway 104 eastbound in Pictou County, Saltsprings, N.S.

Pictou District RCMP is currently investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred at exit 19 on Highway 104. At approximately 11:30 a.m., Pictou County District RCMP and Emergency Health Services responded to a single vehicle-pedestrian collision at exit 19.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Pictou County District RCMP and Emergency Health Services responded to a single vehicle-pedestrian collision at exit 19.

Preliminary investigation determined that a woman walking on the eastbound shoulder of the road was struck by a passing vehicle. The victim, a 48-year-old woman from Limerock, was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital by EHS with serious injuries.

Eastbound traffic will be rerouted onto Highway 4 (from exit 19 to exit 20) for the next several hours. A collision analyst has been called to assist with the investigation. The investigation is continuing.
