At 9:40 pm east members responded to the 0-100 block of Caledonia Road in Dartmouth to a report of an injured male laying in the hallway of an apartment building.
A 59 year old male was located severely injured. The victim reports letting someone into his apartment that he believed was known to him at the time. The victim was then assaulted and eventually lost consciousness. When he had awoken he exited his apartment seeking assistance. The victim was rushed to the QE II Hospital where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. He has had an initial interview by investigators. A k-9 unit was brought to the scene and identification officers. Members of the General Investigative Section are continuing to investigate this incident to determine a possible motive. This incident is not believed to be a random act. The suspect description is a white male but dark complected, large build, 5’10”-6’ in height, dark hair, wearing a red toque and sky blue jacket, believed to have fled the area on foot. The investigation is still in its early stages.
