Police investigate thefts from mailboxes, Lower Sackville, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police are investigating a rash of thefts from mailboxes. On Wednesday, June 3rd, Halifax District RCMP were advised by Canada Post that a number of mailboxes had been broken into over the past eight days.

On Wednesday, June 3rd, Halifax District RCMP were advised by Canada Post that a number of mailboxes had been broken into over the past eight days.

Culprit(s) used vice grips to pull the tumbler mechanism out of the locks to gain entry into each of the mailboxes. Once inside the mailboxes, culprit(s) stole parcels that had recently arrived.

The affected Canada Post mailbox locations in RCMP jurisdiction are: Waterstone Run at Lucasville Rd., Bryston Rd. at Lucasville Rd., Millstone Ct. at Waterstone Run, and 1400 Lucasville Rd. In total, seven mailboxes were broken into. Halifax Regional Police are investigating similar incidents in their jurisdiction as well. These include four incidents on Ketch Harbour Rd. and one in Bedford.
