Lifting of Spring Weight Restrictions

Friday, April 22, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality will lift spring weight restrictions on roads it oversees starting at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 25. Spring weight restrictions will also simultaneously be lifted on most roads in the municipality maintained by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. The provincial department may still have some roads posted for lower weight to prevent damage to roadways. The trucking industry and other heavy vehicle operators are advised to obey posted restrictions, as the lower weight restrictions will still be enforced. Spring weight restrictions on these select roads in the municipality and in other counties of the province will remain in effect until May 9, at the latest. For updated information on the provincial restrictions still in place, please visit the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal website at http://novascotia.ca/tran/trucking/springweight.asp. –30-
