The suspicious death that occurred at 2 a.m. today in North Preston is being treated as a suspected homicide.
The deceased victim, a 20-year-old male from North Preston, was located outside shortly after 2 a.m. this morning by police who were responding to reports that gun shots had been fired. The victim appeared to have been shot and an autopsy will be performed later today by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.

At 2:00 a.m. today, police responded to a report of a suspicious death on Downey Rd., North Preston following reports of gun shots being fired.
At this time, police officers are on scene and the investigation is being led by the Major Crimes Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
The investigation is still in its early stages, however further information will be shared when available.
