Sheet Harbour RCMP members responded to a house fire on MacDonald Cove Rd. on February 2 just after 11 a.m. The home was abandoned and was completely destroyed as a result of the fire. No one was hurt. Investigators checked around the area and determined that a man and a vehicle seen in the area around the time of the fire may have been involved, and are asking for assistance from the public to locate him. Police located suspect footprints around the building and have reason to believe an accelerant was used to start the fire.
Sheet Harbour RCMP are attempting to locate a person of interest in this matter, who was seen in the area at the time of the fire. He is described as a young male, approximately 5-foot-10, thin, in his early to mid twenties, with a full, dark beard. He was wearing a grey and black hoodie and sneakers.
