Operating a lawn tractor while impaired results in arrest

At 8:00 p.m. last evening, Lunenburg District RCMP was alerted by a member of the public to a suspected impaired driver operating a lawn tractor on the Grimm Rd. in First South, Lunenburg County.  RCMP attended and located the suspected impaired driver driving the lawn tractor down the road.

The 50-year-old man, of First South, was placed under arrest after failing a roadside test. The man later provided breath samples, which were more than three times the legal limit. As a result, Andrew Melvin George is facing the following charges:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle over 80 mgs%
  • Failing to Comply with a Probation Order
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited

George was held in custody and appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court today. He was released on conditions and will return to Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 5 at 9:30 a.m.
