Nova Scotia RCMP dismantles grow-op, seizes significant quantity of marijuana – Loch Broom

Two men are facing production and drug trafficking charges after Nova Scotia RCMP dismantled a large-scale grow-op and seized a significant quantity of marijuana in Loch Broom on September 6.

As part of an ongoing investigation, Pictou RCMP, with assistance from RCMP Air Services, Pictou RCMP General Investigation Section and Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), searched a property in Loch Broom, Pictou County, at approximately 1:30 P.M.

As a result of the search, police located a large-scale illegal marijuana production operation and seized 1,300 plants and a large quantity of packaged marijuana.

A 53-year-old man and a 47-year-old man, both from Northport, Cumberland County, were arrested at the scene without incident.  They both face charges of Production of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking.

They will appear in Pictou Provincial Court on December 17, 2018 at 9:30 A.M.
