Police Investigate Robbery and Arrest two suspects – Dartmouth​

Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery that occurred last evening in Dartmouth.

On February 1, 2020 at approximately 9:36pm a male victim met with a female for a first date in the park at 110 LaPierre Crescent. When the male sat down on the bench to converse with the female he was approached by a male who told him to “Give him his wallet and phone or he would be stabbed”. The victim did not see a weapon and began to run from the park being chased by the male and female. The victim ran towards a police vehicle which was patrolling in the area. The male and female ran back into the park. Officers had a short foot pursuit and arrested the male who ran into a residence on Lapierre Crescent, The female who was also in the residence turned herself over to police after a short negotiation.

The Police Service Dog located property belonging to the victim in the park.

A 20 year old female and a 21 year old male were charged with Robbery and released on conditions with a future Dartmouth Court Date.​ ​

Police Investigate a business break and enter

One suspect in custody following a break and enter in Halifax this morning.​ ​ ​

On February 2, 2020 at 3:05am, police responded to Free Assist at 2313 Gottingen Street for a break and enter in progress. A citizen contacted police after observing a male suspect damaging the front door of the business. Officers contained the business while a police service dog searched the interior locating the suspect inside. After a brief struggle the male suspect was arrested for Break and Enter.

A 21-year old male was charged with Break and Enter and released on conditions with a future Halifax Court Date.
