A man faces charges in connection with counterfeit documents after a two-week-long investigation by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Financial Crime Unit.

Acting on information, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block of Gladstone Street at approximately 7:10 p.m. Friday night. A man was arrested at the scene without incident. The search resulted in seizure of a number of counterfeit identity documents, and the equipment required to produce them.

Twenty-six-year-old Jonathan David DeYoung of Halifax was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face a total of 108 fraud-related charges. They include making false documents, affixing a counterfeit mark to documents, possession of identity information for fraudulent purpose, fraudulently personating another person with intent to gain advantages, possession of a machine or instrument intended to be used in forging a trade-mark and possessing a counterfeit mark for a document.
