Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man with firearms and violence related offences after an incident on Ryland Ave. in Bible Hill.
On November 26, 2022, at approximately 3 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Ryland Ave. in Bible Hill. RCMP officers learned that an altercation had occurred between a man and woman. Another man knocked on the door of the apartment and the suspect opened the door while pointing a firearm at him. The male victim walked away from the apartment and waited for the RCMP.
RCMP officers arrived at the scene and the suspect was safely taken into custody. He was transported to the Bible Hill Detachment and held in custody overnight. RCMP officers executed a search warrant on the apartment and, located and seized ammunition and nun-chucks.
On November 27, after witnesses provided investigators with video surveillance, which assisted in identifying where the firearm in this incident may have been hidden, an RCMP Police Dog Services, with assistance from RCMP Forensic Identification Services, conducted an article search in the area of Ryland Ave. and Main St. During the article search, the RCMP police dog team located the rifle used in this incident. The rifle has since been seized.
Tristan William Standingready-Gloade, 19, of Bible Hill, has been charged with:
- Assault;
- Uttering Threats;
- Pointing a Firearm;
- Careless Use of a Firearm (2 counts);
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (2 counts);
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized (2 counts);
- Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order (6 counts)
Standingready-Gloade was remanded into custody and will appear in Truro Provincial Court on November 30, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
