Impaired driving charges after man crashes into bus shelter

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a motor vehicle crash that occurred in Halifax last night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. officers responded to a report of a single vehicle crash in the 6000 block of Bayers Road. A man lost control of his vehicle and struck a bus shelter in the area. Officers observed signs of impairment and arrested him. There was no one in the bus shelter at the time of the incident and there were no reported injuries.

The driver, a 45-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count of operating a conveyance while impaired by drug.
