The RCMP Marihuana Grow Operations Team, assisted by Federal Drugs, Synthetic Drug Unit and Halifax District RCMP members, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant during the evening hours of February 19 at a property on Bluewater Road in Bedford.
At approximately 10 p.m., officers searched an industrial park business unit and located a large indoor grow-operation inside the business. Officers seized 375 mature marihuana plants along with grow equipment and an electrical by-pass was detected indicating theft of power.
“This operation was highly sophisticated,” says S/Sgt. Roddie Macdonald, RCMP Nova Scotia Drug Coordinator, “the marihuana grow was located in an industrial complex along with legitimate businesses and this puts peoples’ lives at risk.”
