Thanks to Couchtime reader Kelley, who let me know that this week on The Voice only two singers would be eliminated. I’m pleased with this change, because it’s how I wanted the show to work back when it began. I think it makes it more interesting for viewers, and increases the level of competition between the coaches.

I fast-forwarded through most of the results show because it’s boring, but click through for my thoughts on who was eliminated and the bits of the show I watched.

• Christina and Cee Lo singing their new duet was a fun performance because they’re both so theatrical. The song is pretty catchy, too.
• I always love Cee Lo’s performances with his team, and “Stayin’ Alive” was really fun. It wasn’t the greatest to show off his team members’ voices, but it was fun.
• Blake’s performance of “Life is a Highway” was probably the best to show off everyone else’s voice.

The Results: I buzzed through most of it, until we had Michaela, Adriana, Cody and Melanie left. I wasn’t too surprised by this, and of the four I expected Adriana and Melanie to be eliminated. Instead, the two eliminated were Adriana Louise from Team Christina and Michaela Paige from Team Blake. Apparently America hates girls with two first names.

Adriana was a weak link on Team Christina, so I’m not surprised by that. I do think Michaela has more to offer than Melanie does, so I’m disappointed we won’t get another performance from her. That said, the bottom four wasn’t too far off the mark overall. What did you guys think?
