At 10:58 pm members responded to a weapons related incident at an apartment in the 0-100 block of Gaston Road.  A male was reported to have pointed a firearm at a female known to him. 

 The 37 year old female exited the apartment unharmed a short time later. The 50 year old male suspect also exited the apartment and was taken into police custody without incident.  A search warrant was prepared and executed on the suspects apartment.  Three rifles were seized.

 

The 50 year old male suspect was held in police custody overnight and will appear in morning court.  He faces the following charges : Assault with a weapon, Uttering threats, Using a firearm in the commission of an offence, Carless use of a firearm, Pointing a firearm and Possession of a Weapon for a dangerous purpose.
