The Halifax Regional Police are currently on scene at a residence in the 6000 Block of Chebucto Rd. in Halifax in response to a shooting. At approx. 10:40 hrs police received a call of a person having been shot at this location, upon arrival at the scene officers located a 25 year old male who had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim has been taken to the QE II Emergency Room for treatment and his injury is considered to be serious at this time. Members of the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section are on scene. Police are in the early stages of this investigation. No arrests have been made in relation to this offence. There is no suspect information available at this time.

Update to shooting incident – The 25 year old male shooting victim in this incident required surgery to treat his gunshot wound. He is now out of surgery and is listed as being in stable condition. This matter remains under investigation at this time by the HRP/RCMP General Investigative Section. Police are still holding the scene of the offence. There have been no arrests at this time. This incident is not believed to be a random event.
