Premier Darrell Dexter today, Aug. 6, appointed Paul Lafleche as acting deputy minister of the departments of Agriculture and Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Mr. Lafleche will also continue as deputy minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.
The premier also announced Rosalind Penfound, who is retiring from the public service, will serve as a deputy minister without portfolio until Sept. 30.
“I want to thank Mr. Lafleche for taking on the added responsibilities and his past experience and familiarity with the departments will ensure continuity in the months ahead,” said Premier Dexter.
Mr. Lafleche, who was deputy minister of the department from 2007 to 2012, will oversee their move outside of HRM.
“I also want to thank Ms. Penfound for her commitment and dedication to making Nova Scotia a better place to live and wish her success as she takes on a new challenge with the Nova Scotia Community College,” said Premier Dexter.
The appointments are effective immediately.
