Finance and Treasury Board Minister Diana Whalen will join her counterparts from across the country in Toronto on Friday, Nov. 1, for the Provincial and Territorial Finance Ministers’ Meeting.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my new colleagues and tackling the issues that are important to Nova Scotians, and all Canadians,” said Ms.

Whalen. “We share many of the same fiscal and economic challenges and working together will help us find common ground to address these issues.”

Agenda items include issues identified during the summer’s Council of the Federation meetings, including retirement income security.

“It is an important issue for Nova Scotians and for my government, and I look forward to hearing about the ideas and solutions that are coming forward,” said Ms. Whalen.

Ms. Whalen will join her fellow finance ministers again in mid-December for the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Finance Ministers’ Meeting in Meech Lake.
