Investigators with the HRP/RCMP General Investigation Section have charged a man after stolen property was advertised for sale on Facebook.

Yesterday morning, police received information that an individual had posted an ad looking to sell stolen car parts on a Facebook discussion page. The parts were reported stolen after a break and enter at Civic Pride on Bluewater Road in Bedford on April 10. Investigators contacted the suspect and met with him on Leeds Street in Halifax. He was arrested without incident after confirming that he was in possession of the stolen car parts. A search warrant was also executed earlier today in the 0-100 block of Essex Drive in Herring Cove and additional stolen parts were recovered.

Nineteen-year-old Mikeal Albert O’Neill of Herring Cove was held in custody overnight. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of break and enter, possession of stolen goods, trafficking in property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance.
