Tuesday, May 27, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Good times at the Emera Oval are back starting Saturday, May 31, when the track re-opens for summertime activities.
Residents are encouraged to bring the entire family for some inline and roller skating from 2-4 p.m. or 5:30-8:30 p.m. this Saturday.
During these scheduled, monitored events, participants can borrow skates and all the required safety gear for free. Please note that a valid government issued photo ID is required to borrow skates and helmets.
For those who have their own equipment, the Emera Oval is open to use at their convenience. However, participants should note that in the summer months, as per provincial law, .
The Emera Oval is a great place for school trips, birthday parties and day camp activities. Large groups are welcome and are encouraged to book ahead at www.halifax.ca/SkateHRM. If you need to cancel your reservation, please give as much advanced notice as possible to ensure other groups are able to attend.
Because there is a limited supply of gear, it is highly recommended that participants bring their own, whenever possible. Gear cannot be reserved. Skates and helmets are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
