Natural Gas Pipeline Installation – Windmill Road

Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that work began today, Oct. 9, to extend the natural gas main on Windmill Road at Stairs Street to roughly 100 metres south.

The pipe installation and subsequent restoration work is expected to take approximately two weeks. Work will not take place from 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Two lanes are expected to be maintained at all times.

The sidewalk on the west side of Windmill Road will be closed during construction, but the east sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes, if possible.

Heritage Gas and the municipality apologize in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
