JON TATTRIE over at Metro Halifax writes about The Halifax Coalition Against Poverty’s dismay over a recent four dollar welfare increase:

“HCAP’s Jill Ratcliffe said a 30 per cent rise is needed just to bring assistance back to where it was in the 1980s.”

It will be interesting to see if this becomes an election issue, given that the economy’s strength is in doubt at this point.
