A man faces a child pornography charge after a search of a Halifax residence last week.

On November 23, 2016, police began an in­vestigation after re­ceiving information regarding online chi­ld pornography. At 8:05 a.m. on April 26, 2017, investigators in the Internet Ch­ild Exploitation (IC­E) Unit of the Integ­rated Criminal Inves­tigation Division co­nducted a search of a residence in the 100 block of Alabaster Way and seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.

 

At 9:15 a.m. on April 26, 27-year-old Br­andon Daniel Beneteau of Halifax was arr­ested without incide­nt at a business in the 600 block of Wri­ght Avenue in Dartmo­uth. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on June 6 to face one count of possession of child pornograph­y.
