A man is facing charges after a road rage incident in Halifax

A man is facing charges after a road rage incident earlier today in Halifax.

At 12:27 pm, police responded to the area of Skylark Street and Melody Drive for a report of man threatening another man with a knife. It was learned that the victim was travelling north on the Bedford Hwy when he honked his horn at another vehicle which was merging towards him. Both vehicles turned left on Melody Drive and the first vehicle stopped at the intersection of Melody Drive and Skylark Street. The driver exited his vehicle and threatened the other driver with violence while holding a knife. The suspect returned to his vehicle and left the area towards Flamingo Drive. The vehicle was located at the intersection of Flamingo Drive and Skylark Street where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The knife was recovered and no one was injured.

A 43-year-old Halifax man has since been released from custody. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
