A message from Bedford Community Council Association

First of all, the BCCA would like to wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous 2010.

At this time, our Association should be assisting, in whatever way possible, with the review that is presently being undertaken on the existing Municipal Council relative to the number of Councillors, the District boundaries, and Community Councils.

Unfortunately, however, the BCCA has been having some issues over the last year or so relative to our elected management. We have been unable to obtain a suitable number of Directors and our existing Management Team has been finding it increasingly difficult, with family and work obligations, to continue with the momentum this organization first had and deserves.

On this basis, we ask all of our existing members, and those of you not yet a member, to seriously consider joining the Management Team so that we can continue with our mandate of improving the quality of life in Bedford.

Please contact the BCCA if you are interested in becoming involved or just have some thoughts/ideas that might help us continue with our endeavors.

As well, we would like to bring to your attention a group of Bedford business people in the process of starting a BID (Business Improvement District) in Bedford.

Their website is www.shopbedford.biz.

If you have a business in Bedford, please check out their website. It is a great opportunity for businesses in Bedford to increase their visibility and to obtain a valuable networking tool which, ultimately, should also help reduce costs in areas such as advertising, heating, etc., where bulk purchase can be utilized.

Thank you.
