A Trip To The Farmers Market

My day started bright and early because I was meeting Ang for coffee and a trip to the local Farmers Market.   First stop, the Cabin Coffee (I couldn’t find their website?  I’m sure they must have one but google wasn’t very helpful.) where I enjoyed a delicious, fresh-out-of-the-oven berry scone and coffee for breakfast. The scone was really good,  the dough wasn’t sweet which was nice, I was expecting to bite into an almost cakey taste but not so.

The Halifax Farmer’s Market is held at the historic Keith’s Brewery site. It was HOT, full of great smells, delicious sights and lots and lots of people. I love seeing all ages out supporting our local farmers and eating healthy!   We made our way through the various levels, stocking up on fresh local, organic produce, cheese and bread.

We each ended up with 2 huge bags full of goodies.  My arms were hurting by the time we finished. Look towards the end of this post to see what I bought! 😉

We took our time walking back to the parkade so I used it as an opportunity to snap a few pics.

Pit stop for a fantastic treat – Cold Stone Creamy!!! Like It size (small)  – cake batter, 1 Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and chocolate syrup.  After the humidity at the market this really hit the spot!

Back at Angie’s place I supervised while she made us huge ass salad for lunch. 🙂

I whipped us up a quick dressinghoney mustard, balsamic vinegar, honey and olive oil. Mmm mmm! This was as good as it looks!

Fresh bread from the market and Fox Hill Cranberry Cheddar.   The perfect summer meal I tell ya!

Of course I snuck a peek at the Nursery while I was there…… it is gorgeous – a very well put-together, calming atmosphere.
