America’s Got Talent: We’ve got half of the Top Ten

After what has felt like eons, five contestants have made it through to the top ten on America’s Got Talent. Next week twelve more acts will compete for the remaining five spots, and we’ll be that much closer to this show finally wrapping up.

It wouldn’t be so bad if I had been impressed by the performances on Tuesday night. But after two hours of mediocrity followed by some disappointing results on Wednesday night, I am rapidly losing interest in this show.

Thank god for Prince Poppycock. He seriously impressed on Tuesday night and assumed his rightful place in the finals. I’m also happy that Michael Grimm has made it through. The rest of the finalists? Meh. The young ballroom dancers Anna and Patryk deserved to go through based on their Tuesday night performance, but I can’t see them winning the competition. They’d already been eliminated once, must we really go through that again? And the young floppy-haired singer Taylor Matthews is hardly top ten material, let alone worthy of a Vegas show. The most disappointing result was the advancement of singing sisters Christina and Ali. I mean, come one. They actually told the judges that one of their talents is being a good person. Since when is that a talent? Their talent is supposed to be singing, and they are way out of their league.

How did you feel about the results? Will this show ever end?
