An “A” for basketball

cheetahs-students-smTwo grade 12 students at CP Allen High School, Amr Al-Hammadi and Mark Lutley, have successfully put together a basketball spring league for a project in Entrepreneurship in Mr. Boudreau’s class.

Having a passion for sports the two students organized this spring league in partnership with Community Recreation Services, Halifax Regional Municipality.

As a result of their hard work, CP Allen and HRM is hosting a junior high spring league for Bedford Junior High, Bedford South School and Madeline Symonds Middle School. The league comprises of four teams of boys and girls in grades seven to nine.

The league comes as a relief to many parents and players, as Bedford Eagles Basketball League had decided to not have a spring league this year.

The league will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6p.m. at Basinview Drive Community School. The league will start on April 21 and run for five weeks.

Each team will play seven games including playoffs.

The league will hold its first games today. Good luck to all players!
